The Beginning of a New Adventure!

Well, this week marked the first week of thousands of weeks to come in the Frantz household.... it was our first week of school.  Although we've been doing some preschool things here and there and learning to read, on Tuesday we embarked on the official journey of homeschooling. Madeline started Kindergarten and it was a big week for her (and ME too!).

We've been talking about it all summer long, so she has been really excited. Here are some highlights from the first day!

Daddy brought home donuts for breakfast, per Maddie's request

Somebody
is excited!!!!

Seems like this was just yesterday
Where has the time gone?

Going down to do some school

Doing some math

Doing some art

Rivers has been a trooper and is joining in on lots of the fun as well!

I'm really excited about this new chapter in our lives.  Though things are getting busier, it's been such fun to get to be Madeline's and Rivers teacher.  I'm so thankful that I get to be home with them and investing into their little hearts and minds in this way.  So, HERE GOES NOTHING!  I'm sure there will be many posts about this new adventure for many years to come!

Happy Birthday Ms. Geneva

We had the privilege of celebrating our dear friend's 96th birthday last week.  Ms. Geneva is a member of our church, and we've gotten the chance to know her these past three years since coming to Kenwood.  This past year we've gotten to know and love her even more.  Since April, every week or two I load up all the kids with a book bag full of snacks and activities and we go to visit and pray with Ms. Geneva.  She has shared her life with us and loved on me and the kids so well.  She's so patient as three rowdy small children come into her nice, quiet orderly home!  She is one of the most content and joyful women I've ever met.  She loves Jesus and has walked with him through all seasons of life.  Her faithfulness, joy, and hope in the Lord have been such an encouragement and testimony to me, and our kids have grown to love her as well.  Her and Madeline especially have formed a sweet little friendship.

So last Wednesday she turned 96, and we  took her out to one of her favorite meals on Thursday to celebrate; chicken livers at Lee's Chicken (we  had chicken fingers and let her have the livers all to herself)!  We had a blast and enjoyed getting to treat this special friend to a special lunch!

Happy Birthday Ms. Geneva! We love you and hope we get to spend many more with you!
